Ultra-Drain Seal®
Completely seal storm drains to protect our waterways during emergency spills
When pellets spill near a storm drain, you need to close that path to the waterway right away. Use the Ultra-Drain Seal in an emergency, or temporarily during loading and unloading operations, to keep plastic pellets and other materials out of storm drains.
It is made from flexible, non-absorbing polyurethane with a reinforced, tear-resistant mesh inside. Either side seals most drains, so there’s no wrong way to lay it down. That makes it a valuable part of any emergency response plan, spill kit, or stormwater management program.
Important: The Ultra-Drain Seal is not intended for long-term outdoor use (more than two hours). Extended UV exposure and/or heat can degrade the product. For longer applications, ask about the Ultra-Drain Seal Plus.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size Ultra-Drain Seal should I use?
For best results, use a drain seal at least 6″ larger than the outside of the grate.
Can I leave an Ultra-Drain Seal on the drain for long periods?
No. The Ultra-Drain Seal is made with urethane and will break down with extended UV exposure. Leave it in place only as long as needed to contain and clean up a spill. Long-term outdoor use is not recommended.
Can I drive over an Ultra-Drain Seal?
No. It should not be driven over under any circumstances. The soft material can be damaged by vehicle tires and other equipment.
Is the Ultra-Drain Seal reusable?
Yes, provided it has not been exposed to a chemical that has caused degradation.
How do I clean it?
A standard soap-and-water mixture is usually all you need. Let it air dry, then return it to its original packaging.
Can I cut the Ultra-Drain Seal?
Cutting is NOT recommended. The reinforced mesh is sandwiched between layers of urethane, and cutting may cause the unit to delaminate.
Are custom sizes or shapes available?
Yes. Please contact our customer service department.
What is the best way to store it?
Store it in a cool, dry area in its shipping box. Keep the cardboard tube and plastic sheeting in place to prevent the seal from sticking to itself. Optional hard-plastic carrying cases (wall-mounted or truck-mounted) are available. The physical properties of softer urethane can change with temperature, humidity, and UV exposure, so inspect stored seals regularly.
