Ultra-Pellet Pan - Composite Model®
20' containment pans provide large targets for resin spills
The Ultra-Pellet Pan – Composite Model captures plastic pellet spills from railroad hoppers, just like the polyethylene Ultra-Pellet Pan. It is longer, though, and pans can be connected to form just about any length. Each large 20-foot pan presents a big target for escaping pellets. Built-in drains let rainwater flow out while pellets stay contained.
The composite system can be designed to almost any length to suit each site. Installation needs minimal site preparation, and no excavation is required.
Please note: The Ultra-Pellet Pan is built for pellets and will not contain liquids of any kind.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the smallest pellet the pans can capture?
The drains in the Ultra-Pellet Pans are designed to capture pellets 1mm in diameter or larger.
How does rainwater exit the pellet pan?
Each pan is fitted with a number of 3-inch drains: two in each standard pan and three in each composite pan.
Can pellets clog the drain system?
No. Water will drain regardless of how many pellets are contained. However, any pellets captured by the pans should be removed as soon as possible, and not just for proper drainage.
Are the deflector shields necessary?
They are not necessary but are HIGHLY recommended. Without them, pellets are very likely to bounce out of the pans and into the surrounding environment.
Is the grating necessary?
The grating is required in the standard pans. It is recommended, but not necessary, for the composite pans.
How are the pans installed?
Installation for either pan is relatively simple and requires only basic hand tools. See the Installation Instructions above. Our product specialists and technical team can also help; call 904-292-1611 or 800-353-1611.
What tools are needed to install the pans?
Basic tools found in almost any workshop are all that is required. Some slightly more specialized tools may be needed for site preparation. The Installation Instructions include a complete list.
Can the pans be removed for cleaning or inspection once they are installed?
Yes. The Ultra-Pellet Pans are designed for long-term installation, but they can be removed if necessary.
Are the drains a requirement?
Yes. Without drains, they are not pellet pans. UltraTech’s Ultra-Track Pans are essentially the same pans without drains, so they can contain liquid leaks and spills.
How do the pans ship?
Because of their length, Ultra-Pellet Pans must be side-loaded onto a dedicated flatbed or conestoga truck, even for a single pan. Center pans stack 6 high and side pans ship 12 high.
How many pans fit on a truck?
One 48′ flatbed holds 12 center pans and 24 side pans. Shipped alone, 12 center pans fit on one truck, or 48 side pans fit on one truck.
