Ultra-Pipe Sock®
Stop plastic resin pellets from escaping discharge gates during clean-out operations
The Ultra-Pipe Sock can be clamped onto the discharge gate coupler or hose of a rail hopper during clean-out operations. Water flows through the patented Ultra-Filter-Tex material, and most debris, including most microplastics, stays trapped inside.
The same sock also works on stormwater discharge pipes, such as headwalls, where it filters sediment and absorbs liquid hydrocarbons including petroleum, animal oils, and vegetable oils. It comes in 8″, 12″, and 16″ diameters, with oil absorption capacities of 1.7, 2.6, and 3.5 gallons. Built-in straps tie around the pipe, or you can use a large hose clamp (not included). Ultra-Filter-Tex does not absorb synthetic oils.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I attach the Ultra-Pipe Sock?
The sock has attached straps that tie around the pipe to hold it in place. You can also use a large hose clamp (not included).
What are Ultra-Pipe Socks made of?
A recycled material called Ultra-Filter-Tex, a high-performance, cost-effective absorbent that lets large volumes of water pass through while absorbing liquid hydrocarbons, including petroleum, animal oils, and vegetable oils.
Does it work with synthetic oils?
No. Ultra-Filter-Tex is designed to absorb hydrocarbons and will not absorb synthetics.
What is the difference between the Ultra-Pipe Sock and a drainage sock or water sock?
“Drainage sock” and “water sock” are generic terms for products that filter water discharged from pipes. Some drainage socks slip onto corrugated pipe, such as a French drain, and are buried with it. The Ultra-Pipe Sock attaches to the end of a non-corrugated discharge pipe.
